Courses & Workshops

Mindful Eating Workshop

Tuesday 19th November from 10am to 12pm

The Hamblin Centre, Bosham, PO18 8PJ

Introducing the practice of Mindful Eating; an approach that helps us develop a healthier relationship with food, promotes wellbeing and encourages a natural way to manage weight. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those interested in deepening their practice as well as those with difficult relationships with food.

This 2-hour workshop will enable you to begin the journey of eating mindfully; learning to fully appreciate your food on a much deeper level and perhaps starting to break challenging eating habits, helping you to eat when hungry and stop when full.

We will explore mindful eating practices that give you the tools to help you slow down, enabling you to engage more fully with your senses so that you may truly savour your food.  Studies show that when we gain more satisfaction with our food, we are less likely to overeat.

Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop

Tuesday 3rd December from 10am to 12pm

The Hamblin Centre, Bosham, PO18 8PJ

Introducing Mindful Self-Compassion and how to bring this powerfully nourishing practice into everyday life - Suitable for those who are new to Mindful Self-Compassion and those wishing to revisit and reconnect with this approach in their lives.

“Self-Compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves that we would give to others.”(Chris Germer)

In this 2-hour workshop we will begin to plant the seed of Self-Compassion by exploring its’ key components – self-kindness, common humanity, mindfulness and the Yin and Yang of Self-Compassion.  We will also explore simple and effective practices and tools that can be developed in everyday life.

Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, less anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships. And it’s easier than you think.

Self-compassion can be learned by anyone. It's a courageous attitude that stands up to self-criticism, self-isolation, or self-absorption. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves.
